When Mohinder's father first started tracking down the 'gifted' people on his list, one man really stood out. A quiet watchmaker who had always dreamed of being special, Gabriel Gray didn't seem to have any powers – at first.
His gift was to see how things work. How people work. How their powers work. But his terrible desire to be someone meant that he started taking powers by force, brutally murdering others on the list and physically taking the part of their brain that contained the gift, absorbing it as his own.
He became Sylar. A man with an insatiable hunger for new abilities, who gets more and more powerful with every kill, and a progressively deadlier foe to the Heroes. Only Peter, with his ability to mimic the powers of other Heroes, could conceivably stand stand toe-to-toe with this superpowered serial killer and survive... But will he?
You may recognise Zachary Quinto from his stint as computer whizz Adam Kaufman in series three of 24, or possibly as the flamboyant Persian-American Sasan in So NoTORIous – you certainly couldn't accuse him of being typecast!
