ANDO

The closest that any character is to being a sidekick, the term really doesn't do Ando justice. Hiro's best friend and companion, he is cynical, at first, of Hiro's quest. Once he realises the importance of the mission at hand, he becomes a stalwart ally through thick and thin, providing crucial encouragement to his idealistic, time-travelling pal.

Indeed, his tendency to be cynical proves to be crucial, as Hiro's charming, yet dangerous naivete gets him into all kinds of trouble. He may not have any superpowers of his own, but Ando's heart is as noble, and his dedication as unwavering, as any of the Heroes.

James Kyson Lee (who is Korean by birth, not in fact Japanese) has appeared in JAG, The West Wing, Heist, and loads of movies, including Big Dreams Little Tokyo and Shutter, a remake of a Thai horror movie.
